bottle from Les Caves, bottled on 06/2012, rated in Aug 2013. Pours amber with an off-white head. It smells odd and off. Uh oh. The flavor is sweet with an obviously off sour character. Infected. The bourbon is in there but it’s overwhelmed by infection. It finishes with unpleasant sour bourbon. Beware. There must be some very bad bottles out there.

Sampled at the DC Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a transparent, brick red with a little cloudy white head. Nose has plenty of barrel, cane sugar, rum, cherries, caramel, sherry, some rose water. Flavor is sweet, caramel, vanilla, raisins, malty, a little apple, almost a brandy flavor, a little coconut. Full bodied, smooth, sweet finish.

Sampled on tap at PIB, pours orangey amber with a small head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, candied sugar - sort of like a barley wine. Flavour of dark fruits, toffee / caramel, again like a barley wine, with a nice texture. Nice, but a biz boozy.
