Traditionally Baltic Porters were brewed with a higher alcohol level to help thier passage to the North Sea. Instead of shipping beer across the ocean we shipped in our friends from Nova Scotia’s Garrison Brewing to collaboare on a second incarnation of a coast to coast beer.

Bottle from Toby’s on Commercial Dr., Vancouver
Black color, with small and short lived head. Dusty aroma of roasted malt, some cardboard, grains. The mouthfeel is not too weak, but the body is thin for a Baltic Porter at this gravity; dark caramel and mildly roasted malt flavor, with notes of liquorice and grains; ordinary bitterness.
Simple.

Dark brown with reddish accents. The aroma hints at a thin, slightly nutty and slightly chocolatey brew. Slightly chocolatey on the palate as well, a little thin, and not really a Baltic, but it’s a dull strong porter.

650mL bottle, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of light chocolate, medium sweetness, light roast, and toasted nuts. Flavour of quite roasty, with light espresso, molasses, toasted nuts and medium sweetness. Medium body, with a well-balanced flavour profile. Good.
