1oz. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: oak, fruity character from the rum barrel, roasted malt. Taste: along the same lines, moderately sweet and thick, fruity, a bit earthy. Overall: pretty good.

Poured up on tap at the Tempe WoB where it exhibits a deep dark brown sort of mahogany colored body that supports really no head at all. The aroma pulses with a blend of boozy rum and a boozy sugary sweetness and then straight up booze. The taste is sadly similar where I’m getting little in the way of “beer” but just hot boozy rum from front to back with a light brown sugar note. I don’t get these barrel aged beers where the barrel is allowed to just crush the base beer.

Tap at Harry’s Hofbrau in redwood city. Deep chocolate and powdered cocoa with heave vanilla and booze. Black with sustained deep brown head. Taste is overt chocolate. High roasted bitter comes in during the back half. Slight smokiness and vanilla.

On tap a O'Brien's, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of rum, and vanilla. Flavour is similar, with loads of rum and vanilla, and very light roast. This is a barrel bomb with loads of rum and vanilla. Solid, but not very elegant to me.
