Cloudy brown, big lapsang nose, big fat lapsang character, won’t call it balanced but fresh lapsang character and nice tannic bitterness. Good use of the "throw random stuff into a cask" gimmick.

Beautiful red mahogany color, clean, with compact head. Mild smoke aroma. The mouthfeel is lean, dry, soft and undercarbonated, with some roasted malts and strong dry smoke, very much like a cold Lapsang Suchong tea. Expected tannins in the final, but soft. As I like the tea, I also like this beer, it’s a good blend.

On cask at Main Street, pours a hazy amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out pungent smoky tea, maybe a bit of toasted malt in back. Flavour is identical, with loads of smoke dominating. Not all that bad, but the brown ale base is absent. Decent for what it is.
