Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Black color with creamy head. Very nice aroma, with plenty of orange peel, fruity in its own way. The mouthfeel is lean and dry; roasted malt flavor, sharp but not ashy, with very strong bitterness, cedar and bitter oranges. A bit more roastiness, and hop resins, in the final.
Very good, well made, powerful but with no flaws of excess.

On tap at the Alibi Room for the 500th beer list celebration, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma is fairly restrained for a black IPA, with notes of burnt malt and astringent hops. Flavour is a bit muted and murky, with burnt / roasted malt, feet / BO, metallic notes, and some astringent hops. Some obvious off-notes here - not on the mark at all. Bleh.
