Antidisestablishmentarianism amber ale
This unfiltered, malt forward amber ale has a slightly sweet finish with a hint of fruit & spices from rum barrel twists soaked in Barbados rum. Colin loved beer and Caribbean rum, so we thought it would be a good idea to combine the two in his first memorial brew.

650mL bottle, pours a dark amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out rum notes upfront, along bready caramel malt and a very low hop content. Flavour is pretty bland, with bready malts providing the backbone, with a smidgeon of rum and oak. Low complexity, but pleasant enough. Meh.

Colin was a good guy, so I had to buy this beer. Cloudy amber with a bubbly head. Aroma is a bit boozy, with some earthy caramel malts as well. Has a yeasty, slightly tart and underfermented character, not professional calibre, with a touch of the rum influence late.

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Hazy amber color with small head. The aroma is rather dusty, with some caramel, breadish, as often happens for Amber Ales; hint of rum. Dry mouthfeel, quite lean; moderate caramel flavor with a touch of rum, that makes this beer a bit softer; low bitterness, but in balance with the rest.
Simple but not bad.
I raise the glass to Colin!
