Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
The dark brown color is almost black, with reddish hue, and small creamy head. Dry incarnation of Brown Ale; it has enough dark caramel flavor to make a beer more interesting than the average Brown Ale; it also has a quite strong flavor of dark bread, fire oven; quite strong bitterness. Lightly ashy in the final.
Modern Brown Ale, very nice.

On tap at Bridge, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, some light roasted malt, and a touch of dry cocoa. Flavour is on the roasty side, almost like a black IPA, with roasted malt and toasted nuts. Dry, bitter and roasty. One of the more flavourful brown ales out there. Good stuff.
