Enjoy, Agostino

Flat, pours a brown color with no head. Smell of cheese and balsamic vinegar. Oily mouthfeel, a lot of balsamic vinegar flavor, dry but soft mouthfeel, moderately sour, and some astringency in the final.
This went terribly wrong.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny bubbly beige head. Nose brings out tart cherries, some cheesy funk and vinegar. Flavour is quite vinegary and off, with lots of balsamic vinegar and a hint of tart cherries. No complexity at all, and the flat carbonation doesn't help things. Not a train wreck, but it's not very pleasant.

375 ml bottle at Ranzani 13, Bologna.
Dark, deep copper body, with almost no head.
Aroma of barrel, coconut, vanilla, cherries, berries, ripe fruits.
Tastes of barrel, sour cherries, sour berries, some vinegar, ripe fruits.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes sour, very fruity, wooden.
Tasty. Especially the nose is great, complex. Taste doesn’t fully keep up in my opinion, but also very nice. Drinks pretty easy for the ABV.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks Yoav. Deep reddish amber-brown color with no head. Oxidized aroma with some cherries, old wine, lacto, a bit of vinegar and oak. Sour flavor, lactic, a bit vinous, with some cherries, oxidation and oak. Finish is a bit astringent. Medium-bodied. Decent but too oxidized.
