Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver; 6.3% ABV
Dark brown color, close to black, with beige head. Not too dry, but definitively they had a heavy hand with roasty ashy malts; and it’s wisely spiked with diacetyl; nuts, dark caramel, blah blah.
Deeply unpleasant.

On tap at St. Augustine’s. Chestnut. Thin head. Very toasty, touch nutty, and a dash of malty sweetness.

Brown, small beige head.Vague malt nose nad palate with medium hop bitterness in finish. Lacks the necessary malt sweetness for the style.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is subtle, with toasted malt. Flavour brings out metallic toasted malt notes and an unpleasant astringency on the finish. Four beers by Snipes Mountain tonight that've seemed off - something is wrong here. This isn't good.
