Cask at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Black color with brown frothy head. Mild aroma of roasted malts and glue. It blends very well dark chocolate flavors with roasted malts, a bit salty, but no liquorice; some roasted nuts in the final; it has a moderate residual sweetness without being too sweet, hints of oak, and the cask conditioning (low carbonation, higher temperature) helps the dark chocolate character.
Excellent.

On cask at St. Augustine's, pours black with a small bubbly tan / brown head. Aroma is fairly restrained for the style, bringing out equal parts roast and cocoa. Flavour is similar, bringing out notes of cocoa, licorice and a touch of roast. Quite sweet, bitter and licoricey for the most part. Astringency is a bit much. Decent, though could some tweaking if this is going to be made into a more official beer release.
