Can picked up from www.drankgigant.nl, consumed at home Sunday 28th March 2021 sat outside with the wood oven going nicely and about to cook flatbreads, Chicken Shwarma, Lamb, Pinenut and Date Meatballs with Labna. Listening to Black Country New Road - For the First Time. Pours deep reddy amber with a haze and with a white head. Slightly dry, fruity though unsure on specifics with the fruit, a little yeasty, actually re: fruit perhaps a little tropical. Not really noticing the hibiscus, and not thinking that this is a typical saison, when judged against classics of this style but regardless it's a very pleasant nonetheless.

Saison from an apparently new beer producing company in Amsterdam. Thanks to Craftmember for sharing the can. Medium thick, off-white, stable head lacing in shreds over a misty pale orangey-tinged peach blonde beer. Aroma of ripe peach, fried red apple slices, some banana, soggy white bread, rose petals (actually the hibiscus), cloves, coriander seed, rainwater, grapefruit zest. Sweetish, estery onset, banana, peach, red apple, relatively softly carbonated (for a saison); bready, slightly biscuity and caramelly maltiness, still maintaining some residual sweetness. Flavouring from a somewhat tea-like, flowery hibiscus presence, mingling with a herbal hop bitterishness and phenolic clove-like aspects. More a flavoured Belgian style blonde than a true saison in the classic sense of the word, but an enjoyable beer regardless, even if hibiscus-flavoured beers are not my personal cup of tea.

Pours an amber colour and a big off white head. Aroma's of caramel malts, sweet, candy, Retronasal Theresa a touch of sourness from the hibiscus as well. Flavour is moderate sweet with light sourness. Light medium bodied. Firm carbonation. Nice enough, but not very saison-ish.

330ml can. Cloudy amber colour with huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Citrusy and grassy, hoppy, slightly floral-fruity and minimally bready, malty aroma, hints of lemongrass and hibiscus, a touch of rose hip and old lemon peel. Taste is slightly dry, tart-ish, citrusy and minimally grassy hoppy, slightly floral fruity, hints of lemon and hibiscus, a touch of rose hip, minimally bready and wheaty, malty basis. Nice.

33 cl. can shared with Suus @ Alex and Suus. Hazy amber with a white head. Fruity citrus aroma. Light bitter taste with a bitter dry taste. Very light body. Not that much saison flavour but nice enough
