Cask at Pied Bull, Chester (brewery tap). Pours golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and floral hops in the aroma. In the mouth the overall effect fluctuates between slightly sweet and somewhat ibtter. At the start the main flavours are marmalade, autumn fruits and malts, After a while traditional hops come through along with hints of citrus and pine. Finish is dry and sticky – a strong hoppy taste left in the mouth (which is good). This is decent, but it seems to be unsure of it’s identity. We call it a golden ale, the pump clip called it a pale, Fat Phil said it was a bitter, and I would call it an ISA as it’s really very hoppy. I’m starting to wonder if they haven’t altered this beer …

Pours an almost clear golden colour with a small foamy off white head. Light aroma, a little malt and a touch of fruit but underwhelming. A light malt taste some nutty flavours with a moderate hop bitterness.

Cask @ Pied Bull, Chester. Clear golden with a small head. Managed to order this without swearing as well! Has a light malt character in a slightly less than medium body. Excellent session stuff.
