On tap at Chuckanut, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out toasted chestnuts, some vegetal notes, bready malt and dry dark fruits. Flavour is fairly sweet and very malt-heavy, with caramel, dark fruits and vegetal notes. Authentic and well-constructed for the style. Solid.

2013-01-14, draught at the brewpub, 7% ABV, 6-5-7-3-14=35
Beautiful amber color, with medium sized creamy head. Mild aroma of malt, with a sweetish impression. Good malt flavor, with very moderate sweetness, round mouthfeel, correct bitterness.
Very clean, true Bock.

2013.01-04, draught at the brewpub, 7% ABV, 6-5-7-3-13=34
Amber color, with small creamy head. Mild malt aroma, some straws. Good body strength; some malt flavor, light caramel, moderate sweetness, and low bitterness; there is a light trace of Lager yeast fruitiness.
Nice, but not exciting; Chuckanut does better.

As part of a sampler tray during my visit to Bellingham. Attractive orange copper color with a fine and fleeting white head. Bright and crisp, not shy and subtle like other of the style. A bite at the end but not because of hops. A touch cidery. Interesting sand unexpected

Medium chestnut colour. Light but toast-accented aroma. Very earthy, caramelly, toasty with accents of nuts. Still a bit thin, like many of their other lagers. Needs oomph.
