Medium brown, thin head. Light char/smoke nose. Similar palate...smoked oysters or mussels...is that a Steveston throwback? Touch sweet, touch tart. It’s totally messy but fits my groove. On its merits this should score lower.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark mahogany color, near black; small head. Mild smoke aroma; the mouthfeel is dry and the flavor is based on roasted malts, some dark bread too, moderate smoke, and a bit too much acidity in the final.
Smoked Stout, ok beer.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out the peated, smoked malt upfront, followed by light toasted notes. Flavour is dominated by the peat, with a rather unpleasant ashtray character that dominates. Stale and ashy. This isn't good at all.
