The 2016 Blueberry project is a blend of sour wheat and blond ales that were aged in white wine barrels for up to 12 months with more than 8,000 pounds of fresh blueberries. The 2016 growing season delivered fruit with elegant blueberry aromatics, providing clean fruit expression to this blend, complemented by the dry, cereal grain notes of the beer with hints of lemon, violets, a soft oak presence and lively acidity. 8.5% ABV

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear ruby pink with a small pink head. Aroma brings out loads of tart and juicy blueberries, light vinous notes, and more juicy berries. Flavour marries tart and juicy blueberries with the very vinous character from the white wine very well. Gentle activity sits nicely with the fruit and white wine. Excellent stuff.

Dark mahogany color with purple hue, almost no head. Completely different from the usual Oak Aged Blueberry, this one is not nearly as sour, it has some berry jam in the aroma, but also some butter; the mouthfeel is smooth, with some residual sweetness, interesting notes of wine, wood barrel, and artificial blueberry candies, yogurt feeling.
Chaotic beer, really not elegant.
