On tap at Beryl's, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of earthy rye, saison yeast and toasted bready malt. Flavour is complex, with lots of dark earthy rye, saison yeast and crunchy crusty bread. Nice incorporation of the rye. Don't usually like these dark saisons, but this is very nice.

Tulip at the brewery - pours a dark ruby - potent rye in the aroma, do much so that it nearly smells like rye whiskey - slightest phenolic profile in the aroma - flavor starts off strong rye, but the saison yeast quickly takes over, bringing highly spicy phenolics - mild esters of banana and clove make it finish almost like a dunkelweizen - tasty.
