Draught at the brewpub
Amber color, clean. Solid caramel base with light bready notes, and a hint of roasted malts in the background, bold structure but just light residual sweetness, the alcohol is a bit too evident, the aroma is too light.
An imperial amber ale; having tasted this just after the Resurrection Scottish Ale, it tastes like an imperial version of it. Good.

On tap at Yaletown, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out toasted bready malt, caramel and a little brown sugar. Flavour is along the same lines, with caramel malt, brown sugar, light toffee and bready malt. Nice and malty, with good balance. Very good.
