Barrel Blended, Brett Conditioned Double IPA
Brewed with Pilsner malt, Two Row, and Wheat, this Double IPA was hopped heavily with one of our favorite lots of Comet. After primary fermentation in stainless with a british yeast strain, it was transferred into puncheons and inoculated with a funky house Brettanomyces strain. After secondary fermentation, it was blended with another barrel-fermented Citra Fresh Hop beer that had been aging in oak since September. The blend was then dry-hopped with a generous amount of Comet and Citra.

On tap at Holy Mountain, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings a lot of funky notes, light oak, and earthy hops. Flavour is quite earthy and funky, with lots of barrel character, piney hops, and earthy, musty funk. Balanced nicely, though it is certainly abrasive. Excellent.
