The second in the Tank 5 Single Hop DIPA series. This time with copious amounts of Simcoe hops – 44g/L total. Simcoe soup. Prickly pine forest nonsense.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 18/05/24. Murky orange with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is ripe tropical fruits, pine resin, light dank edge, grass, papaya, mandarin, light stoned fruits. Taste comprises subtle stoned fruits, light pine, guava, papaya, melon, light dank chimes, soft malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy come lightly dankened hop bitterness. Tidy easy drinking DIPA.

Can. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light pale malts, a really nice light creamy sweetness. Simcoe hops were always citric to me, over hundreds and hundreds of beers. The last couple of years, a pineapple vibe has crept in. I'm not a hop cultivar but I am into hops and seen how the likes of Galaxy, Nelson and Mosaic have changed character with the inevitable broadening of their terroir and if you think terroir doesn't matter, you never tried the Mikkeller series. Anyway - Simcoe, soft pineapple here, plus the more traditional floral citrus. Light finish. A very easy drinking and nicely presented single hop DIPA. More please. Other hops that is...

Thick, peach, nectarine, piney, Simcoe overdose. Extremely tasteful!
