If you don't like peated whisky, you won’t like this !! don’t complain about it if you still end up drinking it despite the warning. No one likes an eejit.

Panda thanks to Colin. Near clear opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Airy palate, pretty light for the style, decent fine minerally carbonation. Surprisingly thin dark malts but there is decent and layered chocolate here. This was always going to be an interesting one, love Oloroso sherry, not a big lover of band aids, or peat as the Whisky masochists like to refer to it as. Here, the 2 elements just about find an equilibrium. Rich ripe dark fruits with that liqueur intensity. Plenty of band aids here but, they marry up with the Oloroso pretty well, its almost like someone knew what they were doing! A mild ice cream van chocolate syrup on the back end along with peat gum numbing and juicy Oloroso. A challenging beer, but it won me over.

Bottle at home, Can't recall from where, 28/04/24. Pitch black with a good sized khaki head. Nose is peated malts, charr, spice, sherry tones, light campfire, molasses, burnt toffee. Taste comprises peated malts, dried fruits, dates, smoky tones, sherry nip, vinous, spice, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Tidy peated BA affair.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is smoky, chocolate, raisin, caramel, taste is chocolate, toffee, smoke, some fruit, thin.
