Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear nutty brown with a beige head. Nose is that sweet, sticky, gluey umburana wood that is incredibly difficult to love. Body is surprisingly light considering the strength, some dark fruits, some Belgian yeast and phenols. Apparently the beer has been both on whisky and cachaça barrels, but it’s the umburana notes, that come through. less so in the flavor than in the aroma - thankfully. Somewhat boozy finish. But "interesting" - umburana is just very much an acquired taste, and I’m not a fan yet. 170816

Dark brown. No head. Lots of soy sauce, creosote. Rich plummy depths. Deep cherry, fruity taste. Light tartness as well. Complex and balanced beer shows a lot of maturity.
