Sampled from the tap at ABR 2024. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of vanilla and strong roast with earthy dark grains backing. Flavor has earthy roast and dark grains with a decent amount of vanilla coming through.
Dark black body small brown head. Roast vanilla chocolate aroma. Roast vanilla chocolate flavor. Full body low carbonation. 9/5/9/4/17 4.4

16oz can pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is sweet chocolate roast malts rich vanilla and bourbon barrel. Taste is more of the nice chocolate roast coffee vanilla bourbon. Always a hit

Pint can from Woodman’s Appleton, shared at the PS Surly Darkness Tasting, 2/25/23. Black, medium tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, rye, oak, vanilla, cherry. Taste is vanilla, raisin, cherry, vanilla, oak. Mild booziness. Nice. One of the crowd favorites of the tasting.

Can 47,3 cl. Pours an opaque black with a smallish, creamy, beige head. Sweet vanilla aroma, topping sweet roast with great whiskey accents. Rich, sweet vanilla roast, lowish carbonation. Amazing barrel character. Warming alcohol finish. 051122
Aroma is bakers chocolate, vanilla, molasses. Taste follows aroma with a smooth creamy mouthfeel.
