Staropolski Tradycyjny Trójniak is the first Polish mead to boast the European label Traditional Specialty Guaranteed. It is a superior-quality liquor with a wonderful taste and aroma.
The “APIS” Beekeepers’ Cooperative in Lublin is the only Polish producer to have successfully passed the verification of compliance with Trójniak mead (a Traditional Specialty Guaranteed product) production specification, carried out by the Agricultural and Food Quality Inspection (IJHARS).
This type of mead is produced from honey mash created by mixing 1 part honey with 2 parts water. It needs to mature for about 2 years. It contains 14% alcohol.

Bottle 750ml. corked. [ As Apis Trójniak Staropolski ].Clear medium amber red color with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy honey, earthy, berries. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration, honey, earthy, wood, berry notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20151121]

Bottle @ Højbjerg tasting, my house. No head. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich honey, alcohol, fruits, herbs and has a nice warming finish.

Bottle 75 cl at Gothenburg Beer Festival 2013 (Haket), Saturday, sampled on September 7, 2013.Clear deep golden color, no head. Leaves some oil like surface on the galss wall. Sweet, honey, fruity scent, some alcohol. Sweet, honey, raisin taste. Warming alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel, alcohol and resin finish.
