In der Tradition oberfränkischer Rauchbiere in und um Bamberg zeichnet sich das Hallerndorfer Rauchbier durch animierende Frische und eleganten Einsatz von Rauchmalz aus. Eine harmonische Verbindung von fruchtigen Malznoten, feiner Hopfenbittere und dezenter Rauch- und Röstaromatik regt zum Weitertrinken an. Mehrfach prämiert beim European Beer Star.

Bottle from bierzwerg.de. Dark amber color with small white head. Caramel malt and bacon in aroma. bacon smoky taste with sweet malt, notes of caramel, bitter hops. Long smoky finish. Well balanced Rauchbier.

Aroma is somewhat sweet and rather smoky with some tar and hints of grainy malt. Flavour is slightly sweet and smoky with some tar and woody notes. Also some slight, woody off‐flavour I find hard to describe. Smooth palate is low on CO2. Becomes somewhat sticky and sweet at the end of the glass. Still, excellent stuff for this ABV.

At the Rittmayer Keller, Kreuzberg 16/7/2012. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and smoke aroma. Flavour had more fruity sweetness, some bacon and a smoky, long finish. Good.

Relabelled to reflect some awards this beer has one, this rauchbier gave Schlenkerla Marzen a strong run for its money. Milder and smoother, but with still more than enough "rauch". A lot of praise early for this offering from Rittmayer

Draft @ Ølbaren, Copenhagen. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity smoky malty bready aroma. Fruity malty smoky flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty smoky caramel finish.

Bottle @ RBESG 09 Shefield also had it on several occasions after that. While not as good a sthe schlenkerlas rauchbiers, it is pretty decent and easy drinking. Apart fro mthe typical Bamberg rauchbier charcteristics it also has anice malty, nutty and caramel background.
