This traditional German style Altbier had a pleasant malt body and subtle hop aroma. Clean caramel and bready notes give away to a refreshingly crisp finish.

On tap at Devil's Elbow, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt and light cereal malt sweetness. Flavour is quite dry, with bready malt, light cereal notes and no hopping at all. Dry, bready and pretty lame. Meh.

Draught at Devil’s Elbow, Vancouver, 12oz
Dark amber color, hazy, with compact head. The aroma is bready, a bit nutty, simple. The flavor is lightly bready, but the mouthfeel is dry, weak and watery; it absolutely doesn’t have the depth of a real Altbier; apparently less bitterness than the claimed 35 IBUs.
Shallow, there are (slightly) better Altbier in the province. But it’s a clean beer.

Draught @ Devil’s Elbow. Dark amber-brown. Medium head. This has a sweet, toasty malt aroma, low-moderate bitterness. Soft body. I would say that the structure is that of an altbier but the ingredients aren’t really on point...I don’t know, I’m a little torn about this one. I shouldn’t expect Uerige I guess.
