On tap at the brewpub. An unclear dark brown beer with a dense finger thick dark beige head. Nice lacing. The aroma has lots of chocolate, with roasted malts, some coffee and a dash of dark dried fruit. It's full to medium bodied and nicely carbonated, mostly dry, and with a good bitterness. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma, but the chocolate is toned down a bit, leaving more room for the roasted malts and coffee. Some dark dried fruit, cocoa and piney hops as well. Chocolate and roasted malts in the finish. A nice brew, bringing Porter into Schwarzbier, which works well I think. Missing the burnt notes a bit though. 241101

Tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown, almost black body under a fine, dense, lacing beige head. Aroma has roasted malt and bread. The taste is smooth, mild roasted dark malt, biscuit, bread, chocolate and nice bitterness. God balance in taste and body, just sweet enough and just bitter enough. Nice and easy drinkable beer with taste. Chocolate flavor is more detectable in aftertaste. A nice take on the dark lager style.
