Pint at the Red Lion, Histon. Golden copper with a big white head. Pleasing autumnal aroma: malt, hazelnut, redcurrant, forest floor, hints of toasted marshmallow. Taste is malt-led and bittersweet. The balance fades a bit and leaves a botanical, slightly salty bitter. Palette is a bit watery. Plenty of natural carbonation. This is in perfect condition. Very similar to other Skinners beers such as Betty Stogs - as I remember them anyway - but that’s not such a bad thing. A very good beer and an enjoyable experience.
