Our ninth Proto beer is a Black IPA, which receives its full, yet soft body from the oats and wheats in our own fields. A generous dose of Mosaic- and Columbus hops then sets the foundations for a citrusy aroma and a bitter after taste.

(Keg at Black Door, 20150909) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had liquorice, burnt malts, fruitiness and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were liquorice, fruitiness, tangerine, sweetness, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity, burnt and bitter. A well done example of a brew showing both very fruity hops and also the burnt malts giving the colour to this brew.
