Our "English Bitter" collaboration with Crooked Stave has a traditional malt base with high notes of English Challenger and Fuggle hops, but fermentation with twelve different strains of Brettanomyces quickly makes it something far from ordinary. Now All Bretts Are Off.

Sampled at Churchkey, pours a clear gold with some ringing, white head. Nose has some grist, some dusty couch, a little rancid butter. Flavor has some lemon and a little malt, straw, a bit of mold, again with touches of rancid butter. Something is wrong.... this brett is off (pun intended).

330ml bottle [little gusher]. Really cloudy, amber-ish dark golden colour with average to huge, osteoporosing, moderately lacing, white head. Intense brett aroma, notes of bubblegum, a dusty touch, some funk. Taste is dry, bretty, bubblegum notes, sweet-ish pale malty basis with sugar powder touch, a minimally tart-ish, citrusy touch. Nice and simple, easy brett for the first-time user.

Draft at Le Sec. Amber copper body, clear. Mildly goat oil aroma Brett. Same in flavor, otherwise an herbal Brett. It’s fine for a small Brett beer but I really prefer a better use of this yeast.

Fat på Bishop Gustav Malmö. Smak och doft av humle, brett, citrus med toner av äpple, jord och ladugård. Lagom sötma, spretig smakbild, tydlig jästsmak, fin beska med smak av citrusskal.
