Panda thanks to Wingman. A light haze on this amber beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. An odd combo of very sweet malts and fairly peaty whiskey. Candy levels of caramel and malt cream. Woody fruits. Rubbery band aid ripe fruits, some vanilla and crisp pine. Light, semi dry and alcohol gum numbing finish. A very richly flavoured barleywine but not everything is coherent.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 22/09/24. Clear amber with a reddish hue topped with a fast escaping light beige head. Nose is peated malts, burnt toffee, caramelised sugars, figs, dates, earthy fruit rinds. Taste comprises toffee, caramel crunch, mellow Islay, brown sugar melt, fruit cake mix, light peated notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid BA BW ... the Islay aspects are well integrated and the whole thing sips easy for 16%.
