Can (Best by 1/31/22) pour from the 12 Beers of Christmas Pack from The Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe. Appearance is deeply hazy orange/amber with fine particulate mist, nice sparkle, finger-width khaki head with decent retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong caramel malt. Taste follows aroma with pear/fruit contribution. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, no hint of alcohol, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a good, standard representative of the style.

Can from the 12 Beers of Christmas Pack - Day 05. Poured a dark golden color, some light orange hue. Medium sized, quicky dissipating head on it. Aroma was lots of caramel malts, toffee, sweet. Flavor was grain, lots of caramel, some cherry. Rich. Not a huge fan of the style, but this was fine.

12oz can. 8%. Not quite as dark as most US examples, a little more orange-tan, some amber is there as well. Drinks really smooth and malty, like a Scottish Ale, with the finishing heft of a Wee Heavy. Doesn't quite have the malt depth of a typical Wee Heavy, but it is still a really enjoyable beer.

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Light malty and hoppy flavor. Average finish. Oily palate.

Bottle @ Assentoft tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel, nuts, hops, fruits and has a nice fruity hoppy finish.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark nut brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized creamy beige-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was toffee, nut, raisin and plum. The flavor was nutty and malty with toffee, a boozy presence, dark fruits and faint golden fruits. Booziness grows but works well. Long finish. Medium body. pretty tasty.

Keg at Post Office Vaults; clear copper pour with a creamy light tan head, aroma has roast malt and sweet caramel, taste has sweet caramel, smoke, some spice.

bottle from kihoskh. clear brown, smooth light brown head. dried dark fruity as well as more fruit juice like fruity aroma, also dark caramel and malts. could be infection or could be a belgian touch to it. quite fruity for something 10%. could be from wood. good euro hops like aroma puts a nice base in there, also some sawdust and dough. Flavor is malty, hoppy, sweet as a sweet barley wine but at the same time not caramelly sweet or overly sweet, just sweet malts, and quite well hopped to balance, but euro like hops more than us like hops. very complex with lots of secondary flavor notes, that are all mixed quite well up, so nothing distracts. the fruity notes from the aroma are still there, but very subdued, like they might be in a good belgian quad. In fact this could be had instead of a belgian quad, it has the same kind of heaviness and refinement about it. Hopheads an us-beer style fans might be dissapointed, but if you like euro style barley wine and belgian quad then this might be of interest, although it is clearly neither of the two. Palate is smooth. clearly a sipping beer.

Bottled. An amber beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry finish.
