Thanks. Linda.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a hazy brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing speckling the sides of the glass.
The smell had a malty sweet chocolate to vanilla setting over top of a pervading roastiness that ended up having a nice smooth toffee and balanced with a nice blend of bitter coffee.
The taste was mainly malty sweet to bring back the bitter coffee to combine with the toffee nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued and smooth to leave a fairly decent stickiness melding to my tongue.
Overall, good English Porter I could have again.

500ml bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield - Deep black body, frothy tan head. Spicy fruit nose, smoky raisin and citrus peel. Good robust mouthfeel, sweet warming taste and a lasting fruity finish. Not a bad little winter warmer this.

Bottle from ?Jacks? Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at the Old Vicarage, Merton, Oxon on Friday 20th December 2013 Very dark brown with off-white head. Aroma is chocolatey with cocoa and some spiciness. Some sour fruitiness, bit of chocolate in mouth, it is tangy with a little tart edge. Nice but not that exciting. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
