We've always had a thing for hops that have lineage based in the classics here at Polly's. When we found out we could get access to some Cashmere this year we were positively giddy with excitement. Descended from
OG Polly's favourite Cascade married up with UK hop Northern Brewer, Cashmere holds a lot of the characteristics of its US parent, but with an extra level added on top that make it in our opinion, one of the most underrated varietals on the planet today. Deploying 50kg into this beer, we're going in hard on this IPA and get a
whole host of coconut, peach and tangerine on the aroma of this beer, with some added lemongrass, melon and an edge of grapefruit just to finish things off.
Welcome to the party, Cashmere!

29th May 2022 Can. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Nose is wishy washy pine and vague fruits. Palate is light, semi dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Airy thinnish malts, touch of thin creamy sweetness. The Cashmere hops bring smooth cooling pine. Soft skunk, soft citrus and a whisper of melon. Teeny tiny touch of candy fruits. A savory bite on the crisp finish. Nice enough IPA. After getting over the newness of Cashmere, I am less and less convinced it's a hop that will stay the long term. It's a hop that can hold its own as ably demonstrated by Polly, but what is its core characteristic that can't be found in many other hops? Nice IPA.

Tap at The Hive Crowthorne, 30th April 2022. Pours a typical yellow haze. Aroma is orange and light citrus, floral. Taste is smooth, soft, peach. Bar tenders were raving about it, I would have preferred more bite. OK
