500ml bottle shared with Finn after breakfast at Kiln. Pours a decent, beige bubbly head over a black deep ruby body, clingy lacing. Inviting aromas of roasted chocolate malts. Fine blended taste of oatmeal, chocolate, and a backdrop of liquorice. Roasted, semi-sweet dark malty end. Medium bodied. Nice. (Newcastle, 20.03.2024).

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. This pours almost black with a small beige head. The nose is mainly sweet milky coffee. Oats come through straightaway in the mouth, and in their wake comes a mixture of liquorice, roasted malts, aniseed and other spices with some dark fruits lurking underneath. Quite complex, but ultimately a bit disappointing.
