Many thanks for this bottle to Beerhunter111. Bottle cloudy gold with big white head. Wheaty aroma. Flavours of yeast, light fruits.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, würzig. Geschmack hefig fruchtig, reife Bananen, leicht würzig.

Bottle. Pours hazy pale straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast and grain with a faint note of banana. Bitter and dusty flavour of hops and yeast that went stale. Eerie basement finish. Looks like it is off, with some strange sediment in the bottle. Needs re-rating, I guess.

Bought when in date, forgot to drink it before 12th August 2007. Drank today, 11th September 2007. Poured into one of my Franziskaner Weissbier glasses. Looks a true old style Weizen, really cloudy with that orange-cum-grapefruit-lemony-yellow colour. A fine well formed foaming head above. I thought I remembered a powerful banana and vanilla aroma from my draught one at the brewery, this bottle did not have the same richness to it. Yeast was the main aroma at first, then the aforementioned smells began to assert themselves. A throw back in time, this is a wiezen with all the old attributes, the taste is sharp, refreshing and has a tartiness the mass produced ones don’t seem to have. I have had a fair few in my time, so I like to think I know what I am on about. Good retension of flavours, this is a well brewed beer, the brewer got this just about perfect. As above, a very good example of a weizen, I will be having this again, hopefully in date and draught at the brewery.

Süffig hefiger Antrunk, ein lineares Hopfenaroma ist vorhanden. Geringer fällt die Herbe aus, die von der passend milden Süße überdeckt wird. Wenig bitter, fruchtig, stimmig. Simples aber gutes Weizen! 9/12/12/12/11/12

Bottle, thanks a lot Bierkrug. Attractive orange golden clouds, pearling carbonation, fluffy lacing eggshell head. Citrus, ginger and light coriander aroma. Medium to light chewy body, mellow mouthfeel. Citrus, light banana on the palate, a hint vanilla. Ends on a slightly too thin note, quite refreshing and pleasant though. Ginger in the aftertaste.

Tap. Sweet orange/banana, light clove and wheat malt aroma - nice. Cloudy golden amber color with large white head. Moderately sweet orange/lemon/banana and light wheat malt flavor. Nice but a bit light malt-wise.

Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy blond color; big head. The aroma has both some spices and banana. The body is medium thin, it’s missing some consistent body, even if there is a balanced spicy and fruity (banana) flavor. Dryish, but dynamic. Pleasant.

500ml swing-top bottle. Creamy, white head over a hazy yellow body. Sweet aroma of late banana. Tart fruits in flavour containing banana and a yeasty touch towards the ending (Trier, 13.09.2007).
