Bottle and draft. Cloudy, deep yellow body. Aroma of coriander, citrus, lemon, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, slick turning chalky texture, lively carbonation. Though all the elements are here of a wheat/wit beer - the orange, coriander, citrus tastes - there’s also a raw grain taste and a slightly chalky mouthfeel. It’s OK, but Cold Snap is not how I would describe this.

Bottle at my friend’s wedding. Aroma was light spice, perhaps a touch of pepper, light crisp malts. Flavor was light coriander, yeast, crisp malt notes. Easy to drink, some light zest notes, clean. Mostly uneventful, but it is what it is.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy orange/gold with a slight white head. Mild zest aroma; hint of spice. Wow. Med body. There’s a lot of fruit besides zest. Sort of plummy peach. With a good hit of coriander and spice. Not mouth burning, but pretty tasty. Another candidate for Imperialization.

12oz bottle from Georgios Liquor, Billerica, MA. A hazy amber pour with a scummy white head; the aroma has grains and some orange; the taste is more sweet and orangey; with a dry bready finish with a trace of coriander. A pleasant witbier.

Big thanks to Reggie Dunlap for this throw in. One of my favorite styles. From the bottle it looks a little more like a hefe than a witbeer. Has a good clean witbeer aroma. Fairly clean and fresh on the taste buds but there seems to be just a tad too much spice for a real witbier. A few metallic undertones biting in there. Very good creamy sizzle of a co2. Yes, not bad overall. Goes down with relative ease. Some mild notions of ill manners on the finish that real civilized belgian whites should not possess.

The Bodega down the street: Pours misty orange with a small white head. Aroma is bubblegum, spice, and wheat. Taste is sweet and pretty loaded with bubblegum and light fruitiness. Does have a little bite in there as well. This is a really tame beer for people who don’t really like beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with small foamy white head, citrus aroma, high carbonation, a bit sour, citrus taste, abrupt finish. I really could not feel any spices as mentioned on the label. This could be the worst Sam Adams beer I have tried so far.

Nice looking, but lacks some of the citrus tang of the Belgian varieties. Hazy pale golden with fairly robust silky head. Some citrus (lemon) in the aroma, which disappears when tasted. Taste is fairly flat and bland, abrupt, dry finish.
