We were delighted to be invited to join the Bract programme from NZ Hops where we get to try out experimental new hops that haven't been released yet. This one is called NZH-101 and we've wrapped it up in our Smell-o-scope single hop hazy pale to give it a whirl. Let us know what you think!

3rd March 2024 Can. A light haze on this yellowish gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, thin, a thin but adequate creamy sweetness. A 2nd swing at these NZH101 hops. Light cooling pine, a mild and soft skunk. Thin but bright hop fruits. Piney citrus with a vague orchard fruits twist, white orchard fruits. Soft floral lime. More pine and mild skunk in the light finish. A nice beer, but it has done nothing to convince me this new hop won't be an also ran.

Can on the Norfolk Dumpling, thanks to DM, 27/01/24. Hazed yellow with a white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is grass, orange zest, pineapple, dank spike, mandarin. Taste comprises bitter tropical fruit shreds, pine resin, hop spice, weed, grapefruit, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly resinous come grassy hop bitterness. Another tidy pale from GW.
