Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 20/01/24. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a thing beige cap that dissipates in time. Nose is fruit cake, port barrel, figs, molasses, brown sugar melt, spice. Taste comprises light chocolate shavings, figs, dates, caramelised brown sugars, toffee, good blend of whisky and port barrel with port winning on the dominance stakes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close Good enough for Women Cannot Sail ... Good enough for this Bois! Easy Life sipper offered here for the relatively high boost advertised!

Pretty much a clear deep amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head, doesn't hang around for long. Nice nose of both whiskey and port with some vanilla oak thrown in. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft rich malts, a little creamy sweetness with good touches of toffee and caramel. Rich but soft whiskey barrel, good fruity whiskey, never overly boozy or spicy. The port barrell brings up the rear end with smooth ripe red and black berry richness, almost a liqueur. Smooth finish finally shows a very mild boozy spice. Overall, a mellifluous and rich barleywine that finds a really good balance between it's twin barrels.
