It’s got bitterness from kettle hop additions, a huge hot and chilled whirlpool hop addition (whirlpool 11g/L Citra), followed by a DDH of Citra during active fermentation and post-fermentation (dry-hop 42g/L Citra). We’ve used every form of Citra we could get our hands on, i.e. Citra T90 pellets, Citra Cryo, Citra Spectrum, Citra Lupomax, Citra BBC. If you’re wondering what Citra tastes like in its rawest form, hopefully it’s this.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a fluffy white head that holds. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of a just-opener bags of hops, lemon sponge and fresh apricot. Flavour of candied grapefruit peel and honeydew melon with a nice bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A heady, full-on DIPA. Delicious.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 13/01/24. Hazed orange to light golden with a just off white cap that thins some but stays for the show. Nose is ripe citric flesh, trace of hop spice, melon, papaya, grass, mandarin. Taste comprises bitter orange, mixed tropicana, grass, papaya, mandarin, grapefruit, pine nip, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come lightly resinous hop bitterness. Tidy easy drinking DIPA.

Can. Hazy yellow gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Nice nose of pineapple, pine and mild skunk. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth light pale malts, a light creamy sweetness. Light smooth piney hop intro. The pineapple from the nose carries over but not with the same intensity. Mild mandarin tangerine and a little savoury skunk. Hop spice starting to nibble on the semi dry finish. Would not have guessed this was a single hop Citra beer. Still, nice!
