Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As Hand Drawn Monkey / Bexar County Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte ].Clear dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet fruity - berry, artificial, cherry, raspberry. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, cherry, artificial, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141009]

Gravity cask at Elysian Beer Festival 2015. Dark brown, very translucent. Decent beige head which quickly dissipates. Aroma of cherries and a bit of chocolate. Yes, very Black Forest gâteau indeed. Tastes surprisingly bitter. Cherry throughout. Tart bitter aftertaste. Thin body. Not bad really.
