Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 10/09/23. Clear chestnut brown with a good sized lasting light beige head. Nose is good bourbon soaked oak, vinous, caramel, stewed fruits, toasted brown sugars, light whisper of alcohol. Taste comprises fruit cake, mix, caramel, light coconut shavings, solid bourbon xoak, brown sugar melt, molasses, toffee fudge. Full bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid well balanced BA BW.

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a crystal clear deep gold colored body that has copper hues and a tiny ring of white foam bubbles. The aroma offers up inviting bourbon barrel booze, soft oak and then faint and somewhat vague spicy to woody hops and a sense of malts. The taste delivers smooth supple sweetened bourbon booze and booze sweetened soft to lightly spicy oak. Behind the boozy barrel character are soft sweet notes of reduced caramel like sugars and sweet malts. The booziness is moderate in strength and creates a tasty balance to the sweeter flavours. Fun nimble beer. Another sip reveals modestly bitter floral to woody to a dash of pine hoppiness. Would boost again.

Bottle purchased at the brewery for me by MrsSHIG: Poured a dark amber brown with a thin khaki head. Aroma is woods, rich malts, toffee, vanilla, boosty, bourbon. Taste is rich malts, vanilla, toffee, caramel, boosty, woodsy, bourbon/whiskey alcohol bite.
