Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 19/05/23. Black with a khaki head that thins to edgework. Nose is chocolate, hazelnut, dried fruit rinds, nutty, mollases, booze tunes. Taste comprises bitter chocolate, Cadburys fruit and not, dark malts, spice, chocolate dipped raisins, cacao nibs. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Tidy enough pastry affair ... if not top drawer ... the cacao helps maintain some bitterness so doesn't run away overly sweet.
