Our cosmic collaboration series continues with a very special rum edition. The complex chocolate and coffee Like Father Like Son base stout has spent over a year resting in an oak barrel sourced from Speyside Cooperidge in Scotland. Now invigorated with rum spice, dark sugars and an abundance of dry oaky tannins all leading to a silky smooth finish.

Keg at the Ascot / Disruption taproom, 04/03/23. Black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is earthy roast, a little raw, dark chocolate shreds, herb, rum barrel, oak, spice. Taste comprises earthy roast, cacao nibs, alcohol, rum stained oak, dried fruit rinds, charr. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a big spike of alcohol. Passable impy stout ... a touch harsh and boozy ... at least not silly sweet ... not one I'd revisit ... needs toning down and a better balance.
