RERATE : cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. No change in description- but have decided it’s actually rather nice ! Have updated accordingly m. ORIGINAL REVIEW : Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford (not listed in Ratebeer) Pours a hazy dark orange with a small white head. There is a vague aroma of bread and corn, but nothing much. In the mouth it is a mixture of caramel, oranges and barley sugar sweets. The finish is nutty if anything. OK but a bit strange. And definitely not a “golden ale” – I would call it a fruity bitter.
