On tap at HOTD. Uses different (Skagit malts) malts. Pours a reddish color with a medium beige head. A big malty nose. Light roast, sweet, yeasty, some strawberries. Light Belgian notes. Quite nice.

On tap at Hair of the Dog, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out burnt candied sugar, caramel, and Belgian yeast. Flavour is quite malty, with lots of bready caramel, light candied sugar, and Belgian yeast. Whatever the difference is between this and regular Fred, it has cut down on the sweetness and lack of depth. It's alright, but has lost its elegance. Okay.

Taster. Appearance: hazy copper with a white head. Aroma: flowery, sweet, some caramel and pleasant malty notes. Taste: similar with high hoppy bitterness. Overall: good one.
