On tap at East Van, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is quite herbal and earthy, with not a whole lot of character. Flavour is very laid back, again with very little character - just some earthy notes, a bit of toasted malt. Not sure what they were going for here. Lame. --- Beer merged from original tick of Top Down Maibock on 05 Jul 2018 at 07:49 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: On tap at East Van, pours a clear copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light herbal notes and light spiciness. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal notes, toasted grains and biscuity malt. Herbal and spicy. Decent.

Draught at the brewery
Light amber colour, just hazy, compact head. The aroma is too mild, the mouthfeel is slightly drier than expected, but it has a good malt base, mellow, bread, honey; balanced bitterness. Very clean.
As good as a Maibock can be.
