Can at Sergey's, vintage 2019, 3.5 years old
Dark colour, almost black. Aroma of alcohol, almonds, vanilla, caramel. Full bodied, sweet, balanced mouthfeel; good malt depth, caramel, warming alcohol.
Complex, sweet, well constructed. Excellent.

16oz (thx, Nick S.!) shared with Alex @ home. Vintage 2019. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: oak, a bit fruity, some roasted malt notes, a bit of chocolate. Taste: moderately sweet, a bit boozy, fruity, lots of barrel character. Overall: quite good, but I don't feel like it's a really nice one, lacks balance and integration IMHO.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 08/01/19). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. More bourbon on the aroma, more apple brandy on the taste, some mild dark fruits in the background. Decent.

Pint can pours with a deep dark used motor oil looking kind of black body that supports a short lived tan head of foam. The aroma offers up plum and blueberry jamminess, earthy dark chocolate, a bit of vanilla and then a mild boozy hit to the snoot. The taste delivers a rich pleasing array of jammy plum and blueberry, dark chocolate, a bit of molasses sweetened dark roasted malts and a thin sweet sense of vanilla. To midway the well restrained booziness starts to warm everything it touches. Great sipper. Wow.

Can, from the brewery. Dark brown. No head. There's some nice chocolate notes, definitely a bit of that apple brandy, and some sticky apple crumble and toffee notes. Big brandy character, lots of apple, with a big chocolate element. The alcohol is massive here, and the complexity is solid. So it's sweet, sticky, but has some pretty good complexity. A fairly unique and high quality beer. The sweet, bourbony, fruity, alcoholic finish is awesome.

16 oz. can, pours black work a small tan head. Aroma brings out caramel malt, some roast, and some gentle liqueur. Flavour is very smooth yet bold, with toffee, brandy, caramel, and light roast. Lots of liqueur without the booze, with brown sugar, treacle and caramel. Delicious.
