Snap! You just captured an unfiltered wheat beer full of refreshment and a flash of tart at the finish. Smile-inducing aromas of citrus hops jump from the nose, accompanied by the sweetness of coriander and grains of paradise. Brewed with wheat and pale malt, Snapshot pours a hazy, lemon-yellow with bright-white lacing. But the real enticement is the snap of tart. New Belgium’s affinity for sour beers led to the in-process blending of lactobacillus to pucker up Snapshot’s base. An extra step to acidify and beautify and get this beer ready for its close up.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14. Clear pale golden with moderate white edgeing. Nose is straw, light citric, grass, herbals. Taste comprises pale malt, cereal, light vanilla, wheaten bread. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Doesn’t do much for me but adeqaute for the style.

Bottle. Clear golden yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of light citrus and straw. Taste is watery lemon. Easy to drink, anyway.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Hazy pale gold lasting white head. Refreshing wheat beer. Not much in way of esters some lemon. Simple wheat beer. Ok balanced wheat and pale malt. Fine. No unbalanced flavours. Just not too exciting.

Sampled @ ChrisO after GBBF day 2. Hazy pale yellow color, small to average sized white head. Aroma is slightly sourish and brett with some hints of orange peel. Tastes about the same: a bit sourish, sourish fruits. Average body, firm carbonation. Meh.

tap - Pours hazy straw colored with a small white head and a yeasty, slightly citrusy aroma. The flavor is of sweet wheat with a trace of spice and, as the description says, some tartness is the finish. It’s light bodied, refreshing, and otherwise okay but not more.

Total Wine, Delaware 12oz: Pours hazy orange/yellow with a white head. Aroma is lemon and a whole bunch of it, along with some spice. Taste is lemon, spice. Finish is slightly sour. Body is pretty nice. Easy to drink. Not bad.

Sample at the Dumb & Dumber Beer Tasting & Movie at Studio 35 on 07/20/2014: Hazed pale yellow color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of wheat, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal wheat, fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is clean and wheaty. Decent overall.
