This massive, warming ale is the third brew from our stone tanks. We used a classic Abbey ale yeast to create spicy esters and phenols like banana, anise and clove to pair with the rich malt and brown sugar notes.

On tap at Apex, pours a clear amber / bronze with a small off-white head. Aroma reveals toasted chestnuts, Belgian yeast, and bready toffee. Flavour is robust and well-balanced, with toasted nuts, caramel, bready toffee and a hint of candied sugar. Authentic and complex, with not too much sweetness or esters - perfectly attenuated. Unusual to find dubbels of this calibre.
