Advent Day 19 (2020)
Imperial porter brewed with ghost pepper and cacao nob (sic). Rich profound flavours of chocolate with hint of dark fruits and nuts from Belgian Candi syrup. Substantial but restraint heat from ghost pepper comes after. Light warmth. Smooth and dangerous for 10% ABV. The heat makes you have the next sip. Great winter warmer.

355mL can, pours black with a small light brown head. Nose brings out plenty of cocoa and Belgian candi sugars, some toasted nuts, chalkiness, but no hint of ghost peppers. Flavour is very chocolatey, with plenty of cocoa powder, followed by toasted nuts, a little candi sugar, and a fairly subtle hint of ghost pepper spiciness that creeps up underneath. The chocolate character is quite nice. The body is on the chalky, sludgy side. Pleasant stuff -- the ghost peppers are pretty minor (thankfully?).

Can from the brewery
Dark brown colour, nearing black, medium sized beige head. The aroma is mild, malt, cardboard; after a few minutes, apple and pepper. The body is rather thin, the sweetness very light, there are timid chocolate notes, roasted hazelnuts, very light fruit and chili pepper; some ashes in the finish. Not bad, but even for an Advent calendar thing they could have dared a bit more (mostly, in terms of body).
